Bueno y Sano Holyoke Announces Official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Location

HOLYOKE, MA, November 25, 2025 – Bueno y Sano, the popular burrito restaurant founded in Amherst, will celebrate the grand opening of its eighth location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event is scheduled for Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the new restaurant, located at 514 Westfield Rd, Holyoke.

The ceremony marks a significant milestone for the company, which began as a single burrito shop in 1995. Founder Bob Lowry, then a recent college graduate, collaborated with several Salvadoran families to develop the restaurant's signature recipes. This partnership was foundational to the brand's success and continues to be an integral part of its identity three decades later, with many of the original families still involved in the business.

The Holyoke location introduces a new chapter for Bueno y Sano, as it is owned by Xiomara Rosa, the first female franchisee in the company's history. Rosa's career with Bueno y Sano spans over 20 years, beginning with a role as a dishwasher. Her dedication and natural leadership abilities led her to master every position within the restaurant, eventually culminating in her successful management of the Northampton location for the past 12 years.

From its original focus on burritos, the Bueno y Sano menu has expanded to offer a diverse range of items, including quesadillas, tacos, salads, and an extensive selection of vegetarian options. A recent and popular addition to the menu is the smoked brisket. The new Holyoke restaurant will bring these fresh, high-quality offerings to a new community.

The Bueno y Sano Holyoke location is now open Monday through Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
